Born & raised in Nanjing, China, Yunwen is developing her career as a chamber musician, soloist, and teacher, after graduating in May 2023 (scroll down to read about specific education.)
She is the first musician in a big loving family. Her professional music training began at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with Dahai Liu. At age 16, she came to the U.S. to pursue music. The following year, she performed as a soloist with the orchestra of Interlochen Arts Academy as a concerto competition winner. Her piano trio "Y", founded at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music was a Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition winner.
She has collaborated with musicians worldwide at the Perlman Music Workshop, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Yellow Barn, and Kneisel Hall.
She's an Artist in Residence at Grace Note Farm in Rhode Island, where she presents two projects a year. Since January 2024, Yunwen has been a teaching artist at Boston Arts Academy.
Yunwen plays on a 1771 instrument made by Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi.
